Travel produces more good stories per day than almost anything else, mostly because so much of it goes wrong. This deck is built out of the things that go wrong.
It follows a trip from start to finish. Packing an hour before leaving. Patting your pocket for a passport every five minutes. Running through an airport. Hearing your own name over a tannoy. Then the middle of a journey: the wrong train, the wrong stop, an hour in the wrong direction, an argument with a navigation app.
There is a long section on being somewhere unfamiliar — miming an entire conversation, pointing at a menu with no idea, eating something and asking what it was afterwards, queueing two hours for something underwhelming and then finding somewhere better by accident.
It plays well in a car, which is where most people will use it, and it works for a group who have travelled together because half the questions will produce the same memory from four different angles. Just make sure the driver keeps their eyes on the road.
It is one of the best decks for it. Keep the questions short, pass the phone to a passenger, and never to whoever is driving.
Many questions are about ordinary journeys — buses, trains, being lost in your own town — so yes.
Yes. The Summer deck covers beaches, heatwaves, barbecues and camping specifically.
