fallen asleep on a video call
Written for two people in different cities, which changes what the game is for. Nobody is counting fingers here. You are reading a card, answering honestly, and then talking about it for twenty minutes.
The questions come from the actual mechanics of distance: getting a time difference wrong and missing a call, adding a second time zone to your phone, knowing the weather somewhere you do not live, following a flight you are not on. There is a whole run about the goodbye — crying at an airport, crying after one, holding it together until they walked away, driving home in silence.
It also covers the small absurd things nobody admits to. Leaving a call on to sleep. Replaying a voice note. Keeping a screenshot of a call timer. Feeling jealous of couples doing something completely ordinary together.
The last section is about the future conversation every long distance couple has and avoids in equal measure, and it ends on the day the counting stops.
One person shares their screen, or you both open the same deck. Take turns reading a card and answering — the conversation afterwards is the point.
Mostly, though friends separated by distance recognise a lot of it. The Friends deck works better for non-romantic distance.
Some questions are honest about how hard distance is, but the deck ends on the good part. Skip any card that lands badly.
